Our monthly meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend so get connected today and be a part of something amazing. About Us The Texas Youth Advocates for Legislative Change, formerly The Texas Teens, was formed in 1999 through the inspiration of members of the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals to provide a counterpoint to those people in this country who can only see the disease of addiction and not the hope of recovery. Representing today’s youth who have struggled with the disease of addiction, we, The Texas Youth Advocates humbly carry the message of hope and recovery through substance abuse  intervention, prevention and treatment. Through our personal stories, and those of our families, we set forth to increase public attention and to put a face on the ever-increasing problem of  insufficient and underfunded treatment, with the hope that our country’s elected officials may join us in our daily fight for a responsive and proactive solution.
