Getting involved is easy. TYA is always looking for new members, organizational sponsors, and politically connected individuals. Our monthly meetings are open to anyone who wishes to attend so get connected today and be a part of something amazing.
TYA members travel to local, state and national centers of government to tell our personal stories, speak our truths about our views on recovery solutions and explain to policymakers how more help in the form of funding and access is absolutely necessary. Members also travel to conferences, colleges, treatment centers, and other venues to raise awareness, gain membership, and fund raise. In addition, the general meetings, events, and brainstorming sessions with other passionate recovering young adults serves as a wonderful support group.

I contacted you all many months ago about membership. I never have heard back anything one way or another. I am curious to the membership criteria and Texas Youth Advocates.
Thanks
Clayton Sponhaltz
Hey Clayton,
Sorry but things have kinda been utter chaos for the last couple of months. I do remember hearing your name from Clayton Goldberg, the previous Chairman, but not much more. We are currently planning on visiting some Houston area treatment centers and recovery programs in the coming months to do some educational/ motivational presentations and visit with our state reps and senators as time permits. Membership criteria is 6 mo. of sobriety, youthful attitude, and desire to get involved. It’s kinda hard to get everyone on the same page because we are spread pretty thin across the state except for Houston. Right now we are trying to develop relationships with our reps so we can easily make appointments to see them when we do have a bill or effort to get behind next legislative cycle. If you are able to attend meetings in Houston, please let me know and I’ll get you dates and times. If you can’t I’ll be sure to get you our minutes from the last few meetings and we can go from there.
