Advocacy Today After the 2008 trip, the organization decided to make some changes regarding the membership criteria around age. Before, young people from ages 13 to 18 were allowed to join, but with that came an overwhelming task around supervision, and the liability became more and more concerning. Legislative Advocacy

Texas State Legislative Advocacy! We are counting down the days with ambitions glee for the 2011 Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Legislative Conference. On February 16 the young men and women of Texas Youth Advocates  will join with other substance abuse professionals to speak to State Legislators to pass along the public’s pleas for better education, prevention, treatment and support of people touched by the disease of addiction.
